Grimoire's Sneak Peek

The new Stone of the Month has been selected. Madame Z has announced Moonstone will be the spotlight stone for August. Look for her post next week to learn all about this beautiful stone. Remember, every item featuring it will be 10% off for the month.

Look for new 'inappropriate baby bibs' coming soon, too!
And finally, a great big Happy Birthday to me!! I'm a Lammas kitty! (As near as any of the humans can figure, that is.) Lammas is August 1st and is the celebration of the grain harvest.

Our lost week

No blog posts were made last week. I would like to put the blame on one of the 'staff' members but, alas, I seem to be the one who dropped the ball. This past weekend was the annual family X-mas in July party and I was caught up in preparations for that. The rest of the staff pitched in and did their part, of course. (The Hubby refers to them as my entourage). Grimmie is always up for a new adventure.

Though Jezzie was less enthused about the whole thing.
Madame Z, ever the little zen kitty, had a much more laid back attitude to it all.

I always have a lot of fun planning the yearly event and this year was no exception. It even gave me an opportunity to make an 'inappropriate' baby bib for my little great-niece.
If the party preparations were not enough to keep me busy, I was also given the privilege of making cookies for photographer Melissa's bachelorette party.
It's been a long time since my 'famous pecker cookies' have made an appearance and I had forgotten how much fun they are to make!

Message from the CEO

Hello Everyone! It's hard to believe the second quarter has passed us by already. Right now, we are in the midst of our annual Christmas in July sales which are always a lot of fun. Since my last report, we have added embroidered baby bibs to both shops. Raven's Mystic Moon is now selling a few tie-dyed bibs of a spiritual nature to go with the healing stone earrings and meditation beads we have always carried there.

Pretty much going in the opposite direction, is Raven Heart Designs with our 'inappropriate baby bib' line of humorous baby bibs.
We have also been trying to use up our inventory of discontinued yarns by making new triple thick blankets. The blankets can be found in our Raven Heart Designs shop on ETSY, too.
R H Designs has replenished the stock of snowpeople Christmas ornaments and besom Yule ornaments. After the past holiday season, both were sold out.
These adorable little besom refrigerator magnets were added to the inventory, also.

We recently ventured into Pinterest land. Many items have now been pinned with the rest to follow soon. As expected, the inappropriate baby bibs are getting noticed.

In the coming quarter, the plan is to continue to add more embroidered bibs and to branch out a bit by offering embroidered bath towels in both shops, as well. Our hope is also to finish up, if not all then at least most, of the yarn that is left. We have already begun to work on replenishing our inventory of meditation bead sets at Raven's Mystic Moon as it was getting low, and will continue to in the next quarter.

Look for us at ravensmysticmoon.etsy.com and ravenheartdesigns.etsy.com. Remember to like us on facebook and to follow Grimoire the cat on twitter. Grimmie does a great job of keeping everybody informed on the latest sales and newest items.

See you next quarter!
Jezebel

Madame Z's Corner: Peacock Ore

Madame Z provides monthly posts featuring a different healing stone each month. She gathers her info from many different sources including the books: The Pocket Book of Stones; The Way of the Green Witch; Healing Crystals and Gemstones; The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals, and Stones; and Grimoire for a Green Witch; the websites: That Crystal Site; Wings of Spirit; and Healing Crystals for You; as well as relying on personal experience. Healing stones are not a substitute for medical treatment. Anyone with serious medical or emotional issues should consult with a health care professional. When purchasing a healing stone, it is best to buy the stone you are drawn to. Healing stones should be cleansed and charged periodically. We cleanse our personal stones at least once a month, and sometimes more often if we feel they need it. Cleansing can be accomplished by holding the stone in a stream of water. A natural stream is best, but since most of us do not have access to one, filtered water is a good substitute. Stones that include metals should not be placed in water because of the risk of rust. These stones can be placed in dirt or smudged with white sage. To recharge the stones, place in a sunny window or in moonlight for a few hours.

Our July spotlight stone is Peacock Ore, also known as Bornite, Peacock Copper, and Chalcopyrite. With it's ability to align every chakra when placed on a given chakra, Peacock Ore is one of the strongest healing stones. It's energy creates a circular clockwise motion which not only affects the area where it is placed, but the surrounding area as well. Chalcopyrite is believed to remove negative energy and to replace it with a strong positive energy. It is thought to raise self-esteem and to encourage optimism. This stone is also considered helpful in dealing with anger issues. It's energy is believed to balance emotions enabling one to unearth the real issues behind them and to heal. Peacock Ore is thought to help one stay grounded while exploring the higher frequencies of angels and spirit guides. It is also thought to protect one from negativity and to alleviate worry, bringing an increased enthusiasm and happiness for life. This stone is considered an aid in making one aware of the obstructions preventing them from achieving their goals. It is believed to help one release the objects and people no longer needed in life, and to bring a realization that life can be good no matter what.

Physically, bornite is believed to help those with arthritis or other inflammatory diseases. It is also thought to resolve iron deficiencies, to improve water absorption in the large intestine, and to assist in the building and rebuilding of the physical body.

To cleanse peacock ore, we do not recommend using water because of the iron content. We cleanse ours by smudging it with white sage. It can also be buried in dry dirt for a few hours. To re-charge, place in a sunny window or in moonlight for a little while. For those not familiar with smudging, it is just a process of burning a few leaves of white sage. The smoke clears away any negative energy from an area, or in this case, a stone. Dried white sage bundles can be purchased many places including from sellers on ETSY. White sage plants can quite often be purchased from greenhouses or farmer's market vendors who specialize in herbs. It only takes one or two leaves and having your own plant enables you to use only the amount needed, cutting down on waste.

Finally, as Grimmie mentioned in his post last week, peacock ore is associated with the astral sign Leo. Our personal experience with peacock ore is of an energetic, but not overpowering, stone. While it is definitely a powerful healing stone, it's energy seems to work in a gentle manner, bringing about a feeling of vitality and positivity.
